Fuerteventura Travel Guide

Welcome to Fuerteventura Travel Guide! This is just the right site for you to plan your wonderful Fuerteventura holidays. Get ready to have an unforgettable experience!

Fuerteventura is the second largest island of the famous Spanish archipelago known as the Canary Islands , just off the northern coast of Africa. It is lined by 210km of lovely beaches with white sand and crystal clear water which are also blessed with plenty of sun throughout the year. The weather in Fuerteventura is definitely so warm and pleasant that you will really like to spend as much time as possible there. This island is also a must for those who enjoy diving and windsurfing. Fuerteventura has recently turned into one of the main Spanish tourist resorts for water sports such as sailing, water skiing and even fishing. Needless to say that there is a long list of ideal beaches for surfing: Corralejo, Gran Tarajal, Tarajalejo, Puerto del Rosario is a picturesque and very gorgeous place. It is worth admiring the traditional Canary architecture of its magnificent buildings made in colonial times like, for example, Casa de los Coroneles . Fuerteventura airport is only 5km away from Puerto del Rosario so take a few minutes to go there just after your arrival or before leaving the island. On the other hand, Betancuria, located in the centre of Fuerteventura and named after the French conqueror Jean de Bethencourt , is known to have been the first town in the Canary Islands. According to historians, its rich water resources and vegetation attracted the guanche people, that is, the original inhabitants of the Canary Islands . Some interesting traces of this civilization can be seen in the archaeological museum of the town.

We know that rest and relaxation during holidays are extremely important for you to feel at home. In this way, it is very easy to find quality accommodation in Fuerteventura at prices people can afford. Choose whatever you want: a hotel, a hostel or even an apartment for rent. Would you like to stay longer or maybe live in Fuerteventura forever? Then just have a look on our section about villas in Fuerteventura. You won t get disappointed!
