Casillas Del Angel is located not far from Fuenteventura s capital city - Puerto Del Rosario .
Casillas Del Angel was born around the 18 th century as the first inhabitants discovered this area for their cattle and agriculture.
Originally, the village is called Casillas , which is derived from the first construction of the Chapel of the Guardian Angel located at the Parochial Cemetery .
In 1787, the Casillas Del Angel acquired great importance and joined the municipality of Puerto del Rosario . The village became an independent municipality from 1812 to 1926.
The Puerto del Rosario municipality occupies the east, all through the west coast of Fuerteventura . It is comprised of the villages of Los Llanos de la Concepcion, Guisguey, La Matilla, Ampuyenta, Tefia, El Matorral, Tetir, Puerto del Rosario and Casillas del Angel.
With an approximate 400 inhabitants, majority of them are dedicated in working in the service sector.

| One important tip when visiting Casillas Del Angel - when you rent a car from the airport, make sure to have at least 15 liters of gas for the trip. On the road going north of Puerto Del Rosario, keep an eye for the gas station on the left side. There are no available gas stations at the road to Oliva and the gas stations at Tuineje, Antigua and Casillas Del Angel closes early.
