Betancuria Museum
The Betancuria Museum is located in the old part of town, particularly in the House of Traditional Style.
The museum has five parts - the first two rooms are dedicated to archeological artifacts. It includes a display of the culture and artifacts of the Mahos - the pre-Hispanic inhabitants of Fuerteventura
The other two rooms are devoted to paleontological remains, where displays of Fuerteventura s climatic evolution are shown.
The last room includes ethnography materials such as lanterns, bowls, shepherd s bags, mortars, manual mills and a collection of aborigine pottery reproduction.
Museo Arquebiológico
Located at the main street of Betancuria , it is surrounded by impressive cannons. The building contains a well-preserved collection of interesting archeological finds.
The highlights of this museum include farming implements, fertility idols and a fascinating idol frieze, which was discovered at La Oliva.
The Centro Insular de Artesania
Located next to the Betancuria Museum, the Centro Insular de Artesania contains documents of traditional crafts and arts.
