The most common food in Pájara is fish, which is normally served with local sauces and tasty flavorings.
Fuerteventura , including all its towns, is known for its ancient delicacy known as gofio amasado . This dish is made from a mixture of grain flour (gofio), potatoes, broth, milk, water, wine and honey. It is then served in a zurron or a fabric bag.
Another specialty is the papas arrugadas - unpeeled potatoes steamed with a mixture of salt. It is steamed until the skin wrinkles and served with mojo sauce - a local hot sauce.
