TRIP TO THE SOUTH OF GRAN TARAJAL
A day trip to the south of Gran Tarajal allows you to visit the authentic side of Fuerteventura. It is best to hire a car for this one-day trip.
As you leave Gran Tarajal, the first village you will see is the Las Palayitas that is abundant in palm trees and complemented by a scenic backdrop of reddish mountains.
After leaving Las Palayitas, you will pass by the remarkable Isthmus of La Pared. At the Tarajalejo, you will see the traditional side of Fuerteventura.
Continuing southwards, visit the cactus garden and exotic bird gardens in La Lajita. This town also hosts the famous camel safaris.
Once you take a step into Jandia, you will be amazed by the vast golden-sanded beaches that line the entire Peninsula.
Farther south of the peninsula are the beaches of Sotavento, which is a popular spot for water sports enthusiasts. Several resorts offer motocross, horse riding, go-karts and scuba diving.
To end your southern Fuerteventura trip, visit the Morro Jabe Lighthouse, located at the very tip of the Jandia Peninsula.
